Nightmare on 3rd Street: A Halloween Trilogy at Mercury Lounge

This Halloween, Mercury Lounge is bringing you the first-ever Nightmare on 3rd Street, featuring an incredible lineup of local New York indie rock talent. Headlining the show is CORE Creative’s very own 3rd Street Band, who’ve completed three headlining tours this year alone. Setting the stage for them is Breaker, a local favorite who’s been performing around the city since his youth. Kicking off the night is Damon Smith, a New York City-based pianist, songwriter, and improviser, known for his work with some of the most notable musicians around. 

3rd Street Band: A Sound Born in NYC

Born in the electric streets of NYC in 2021, the 3rd Street Band is more than a group of musicians—they are sonic innovators. Drawing inspiration from their diverse musical backgrounds, the band blends their influences into a distinctive alternative rock sound. After conquering underground clubs and iconic venues across New York City, they’ve toured the California Coast, the Midwest, and even Canada, winning fans nationwide.  They’ve already rocked NYC staples like Heaven Can Wait, Mercury Lounge, and the Canary Club this year. Now, for Halloween, they’re bringing their biggest headlining show yet - complete with new unreleased tracks, fan favorites, and a few surprise covers. 

Breaker: The City’s Indie Beatmaker 

A true performer, Breaker has a way of getting any crowd moving. His love for music began at a young age, playing for his family around Manhattan, honing the skills that have now taken him across the country. The artist who's capacity for entertaining can only be rivaled by his love of songwriting and the process of creating original music. His upcoming EP, People Change, written entirely in New York, was recorded in a converted barn studio in Charlottesville, Virginia. With only two days in the studio, Breaker and his closest friends crafted the four-song project, capturing the magic of the moment. Breaker is a must see act and will set the stage for a legendary Halloween night. 

Damon Smith: A Maestro with a Mission 

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Damon Smith’s career started early, performing at the School of Rock and collaborating with legends like Jon Anderson of Yes and Andrew W.K. He’s played everywhere from the Highline Ballroom to Webster Hall, and graced festivals like Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits. His solo albums, Intimate Machinery and God of the Grid, have earned him praise from NPR, who eagerly anticipate his next move. Damon is set to bring his eclectic, boundary-pushing sound to the Mercury Lounge.  

The Nightmare on 3rd Street show is poised to be one of the standout events of the season. With Damon Smith setting the tone, Breaker turning up the energy, and 3rd Street Band closing out the night with their signature electric performance, you’re in for a treat.
